Bible Verse For Today 18th May 2025 Sunday Reading
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Message/Devotional Thought: “Abundant Life in Christ”
In this powerful declaration, Jesus contrasts His mission with that of the enemy. The thief (Satan) comes only to steal joy, kill purpose, and destroy destiny. But Jesus came to restore what was lost — and not just to restore it, but to give it abundantly.
Abundant life is not just material wealth — it’s a life full of peace, joy, righteousness, and spiritual power. It’s walking in divine purpose, carrying heaven’s perspective, and living in a continual overflow of grace. The enemy’s strategy is destruction, but Christ’s agenda is life without limit.
You were not saved to survive — you were saved to thrive in the fullness of God’s promises. Abundant life means even in trials, you’re full of hope; in lack, you trust His provision; in chaos, you live anchored in His peace. Jesus didn’t just come to get you into heaven — He came to bring heaven into you.

Prayer:
Jesus, the Giver of Life, Thank You for coming to give me more than just existence — You came to give me abundant life. I reject every plan of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy the gifts You’ve given me. I receive Your fullness — joy, peace, purpose, and power.
Teach me to walk in the abundance of Your grace every day. Let my life reflect the overflow of heaven. Use me to bring life to others and to advance Your Kingdom on earth. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.
